BISA Conference Hardship Fund
The purpose of establishing BISA was to promote International Studies in the United Kingdom and elsewhere by advancing learning, teaching and research in all sub-fields. With this in mind, the Association has established the BISA Conference Hardship Fund. This will support the attendance of two (2) unsalaried academics/scholars at the annual conference.

Doctoral candidates are NOT eligible to apply to this Fund. Postgraduate students requiring financial assistance to attend the BISA Conference are eligible to apply for a Postgraduate Conference Bursary (please see the relevant page on this website).

Priority will be given to those in greatest financial need, to those who can explain how their attendance will assist their career development, and according to the level of contribution to the Conference. BISA will cover the cost of the day delegate package and travel/accomodation expenses upto £200.00 on provision of receipts as proof of expenditure and travel.

Applications should be made by 25th February 2011 with the following information:

1 Applicant’s Name and email contact. and BISA membership number
2 Have you attended a BISA conferences before?
3 100 word account of your research
4 100 word account of how this Award would help your career development
5 Title of conference paper
6 50 word paper abstract
7 Any other role(s) that will you play in the conference
8 200 word statement (with email address) from a BISA member as to the value of your participation
9 Electronic Signature and Dated by the BISA member sponsor
10 Electronic Signature and Dated by the applicant

Late applications will be disqualified; no applicant may be supported for more than two conference awards. BISA reserves the right not to offer the award in any one year.
