Members of the sub-committees are current members of the Trustees Board and others co-opted where appropriate for the work of the committee.  The Chair and Vice Chair of the Trustees Board will select who will be chair and members of each sub-committee. Sub-committee membership will reflect the trustees terms of office on the Trustees Board in accordance with the Governing Document.

BISA Sub Committees

Management & Finance Committee

Chair - Theo Farrell, Nicola Phillips, Hugh Dyer, Ruth Blakeley and BISA CEO.

This Committee covers the general management  of the association and reports back to the main Trustees Board. And also covers the financial management of the association and matters arising in regard to our finances such as VAT registration. Also decides on allocation of the founders fund.

Conference/Membership Committee

Chair - Ruth Blakeley, Branwen Gruffydd Jones, Katerina Dalacoura, David Galbreath + BISA CEO + conference assistant as required

This Committee covers the conference organisation such as selecting which papers to include in the panels, who to invite as a plenary etc future conference format and also any membership issues that arise.
 

Research Committee

Chair - Nicola Phillips, Theo Farrell, Martin Coward (working group champion), Maria Ryan, Hugh Dyer, Jamie Gaskarth

This Committee covers working group approval and funding allocation, workshops and their funding, Prizes - thesis, best article in RIS, Book prize and student conference bursary allocations plus relations with the ISA and ESRC.
 

Learning and Teaching Committee

Chair Steven Curtis, Marie Breen-Smyth, Martin Coward, Ruth Blakeley, Mark Webber, PGN student rep

This Committee is exploring ways to promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning along with awarding the new BISA/C-SAP annual teaching prize.
 

Publications Committee

Chair - Theo Farrell, Katerina Dalacoura, Branwen Gruffydd-Jones, David Galbreath, BISA CEO  + Editors and Publishers reps as and when Agenda requires

This Committee's aim is to receive the reports from the editors of the journal and book series, to manage the process of securing new editors for the journal and to consider developing other publications.
