| Working Group Funding |
|
Established Working Groups are invited to apply for funding to support their work during calendar year 2011 by making an application by 1 November 2010. BISA has £20,000 to award to Working Groups – inevitably, this will be a very competitive process as there are currently over 30 Working Groups in different stages of activity. Groups are invited to apply for a MAXIMUM of £2000. We would prefer that Groups budgeted according to their activity. Given the competitive nature of this process, the Trustees will reserve the right to support an activity at a lower level of funding than that sought by the Group. Joint applications between Working Groups would be welcomed. Where competition is tight, we would emphasise outputs, inclusivity of membership, and impact beyond the academic community, in that order, as deciding factors. Judgements will be made by the Research Sub-Committee of the BISA Board of Trustees, and then discussed by the Board itself. All Working Group applicants will be informed of the outcome in the period after the annual Conference. For the upcoming funding application round, Working Groups are invited to apply using the following format, ideally comprising two pages in total: 1 Working Group Title 2 Working Group Convenor(s) and institution/ email contact 3 50 word description of the Working Group’s area 4 100 word report on Working Group’s activities in 2010 5 If applicable, confirm that a report on expenditure has been sent to the BISA Treasurer 6 Outline of activities for 2011 including dates and locations 7 Outline of activities for which BISA funding is sought including dates and locations 8 Budget for above activities 9 Output from/ Impact of above planned activities 10 Electronic Signature and Date Should an application be from two or more Working Groups, please simply complete sections 1-3 for each group, and section 10 for each convenor? Please email any enquiries to the Research Committee chair, Inderjeet Parmar, at inderjeet.parmar (at) manchester.ac.uk. Please email bisa (at) aber.ac.uk with applications by 1 November 2010. |
