The co-conveners of the Religion And International Studies [RAIS] working group invite paper proposals on a wide range of topics related to the interchange between Religion and International Studies, as part of the 2021 BISA Conference in June 2021. (Further details about the conference are available on the BISA conference website).
Our approach means that we welcome submissions from disciplines such as politics, religious studies, anthropology, sociology, security studies, geopolitics, area studies, and related fields. Our area focus is international, and as such we welcome submissions on any country or region. Our working group seeks to bring together scholars working in this field to examine all aspects of the crossroad of religion and international studies.
Applicants may send between one and three paper proposals. Individual paper proposals must include the following, in one file (doc or pdf format) sent to both of the co-conveners mentioned below:
- Contact information: the name, email, postal address and academic affiliation of the applicant
- A 300- to 500-word abstract (abstracts outside of these parameters will not be considered)
- A 50- to 150-word biographical statement.
Please note: the co-conveners will consider only proposals that have not already been accepted elsewhere, and any paper that is finally delivered should not have been already delivered elsewhere.
The deadline for applications is 22 January 2021. Applications received after this date may not be considered.
Successful candidates will be notified by early February. Owing to the expected volume of submissions, we are unable to respond to unsuccessful candidates.
Please forward any enquiries to the co-convenors.
