About BISA

The British International Studies Association (BISA) is a learned society which develops and promotes the study of International Studies, Politics and related subjects through teaching, research and the facilitation of contact between scholars.  Founded in 1975, BISA is the leading organisation for researchers, policy makers, practitioners and students of International Studies in the United Kingdom.  The association has over 1000 members, while most members are based in the UK there are also members throughout Europe, North & South America, Africa, Asia and Austrialia, new members are always welcome.  The Association's journal, magazine and book series, along with our conference and events position us as a key forum in shaping and disseminating current research in International Studies and Politics. Through our Working Groups, BISA provides a dynamic and pro-active environment for more focused research in to subfields of International Studies.
