About Critical Military Studies

Militarism and military power pervade and profoundly impact all facets of everyday life. Drawing on diverse and critical scholarship, the Critical Military Studies working group will interrogate how these complex imaginaries have become embedded, and untangle their messy, contradictory, and even insidious effects. Through a diverse membership, innovative workshops, and impactful knowledge exchange activities, the Critical Military Studies working group will establish a strong, inclusive, and agenda-setting research community for BISA members, the field of international studies, and beyond.
