Bargaining powers and procedures at COP

This event will be in Zoom, Online
-

The final session in this three-part series will 'zoom in' on the UNFCCC's Conferences of the Parties (COPs), taking a look at how COPs function both as negotiation and knowledge exchange spaces. Discussion will emphasise imbalances of power amongst various party interests, and the ways in which diverse blocs seek to navigate the UNFCCC system to push their agendas forward. Specific techniques for bargaining, as well as key aspects of procedural guidelines, will be reviewed.

This event is part of a series of discussions preparing participants for the BISA climate negotiation simulation in partnership with Chatham House, and will make regular references to specific logistics for the event.

Please note that this event is only open to those attending the BISA/Chatham House Climate Simulation.
