About Religion and International Politics
Given the growing salience of religion and faith in contemporary international relations, the Religion and International Politics Working Group provides a timely contribution to scholarship by pursuing a systematic analysis of the dialectical relationship between creed and deed in global politics.
The working group will serve as an academic forum for researchers to develop theoretical frameworks, advance empirical inquiry, and address methodological challenges concerning the diverse ways in which religion and faith interact with political, economic, and social dynamics in international governance. It will foster interdisciplinary dialogue and encourage critical engagement with the ways religious beliefs, practices, and institutions shape, and are shaped by, processes of political power, social identity, and economic governance in global affairs.
