Contesting feminist peace: Anti-gender mobilisations in foreign policy & global politics
As we mark Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Week, this webinar brings together scholars and civil society practitioners to reflect on the growing challenges that anti-gender mobilisations pose to feminist approaches to peace and security. At a time when hard-won gains on gender equality are increasingly contested, what role can Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) play in advancing the ambitions of the WPS agenda?
Weaving interventions from across academia and civil society, the discussion will explore the connections between anti-gender politics, democratic backsliding and the future of feminist peace and security. Together, we will consider what is at stake, but also how feminist scholarship, policy and activism (including FFP) might respond to these challenges and advance more transformative approaches to peace and security.
