Join the GNO Group team: PGR officer wanted
The BISA Global Nuclear Order Working Group is looking for a PGR Officer to join the incoming convenors, Carolina Pantoliano and Tom Vaughan, in running the group.
We are looking for a UK-based PGR student who is beyond their first year of PhD study (i.e. year 2 of study onwards, including those in their writing-up year), to join us for a one-year term of office. You will also need to be a member of BISA to take up the position.
The successful applicant would share duties with the two present co-convenors; you will have an equal voice in the running of the group. However, we will be sensitive to your PhD workload and career stage and divide specific tasks in agreement with each other, in accordance with each person’s capacity and circumstances. Information on BISA working group rules and responsibilities can be found here: https://www.bisa.ac.uk/about/policies-and-procedures/working-group-rules-regulations
If you are interested in putting yourself forward for the role, please email gno.group@bisa.ac.uk with the following:
- Your name and institutional affiliation;
- Your stage of PhD study;
- A confirmation note from your principal PhD supervisor that they are happy for you to take on this role and that you can balance the workload with your PhD research;
- A short statement of 200 words maximum telling us 1) what skills/attributes/experience you can bring to the role and 2) the benefits that you hope to get out of the role.
We will allocate the role based on these short applications. However, in the event that two or more candidates are very closely matched for the role, we may contact you to arrange a 15-minute informal conversation to help with our decision.
