We invite abstract submissions for a panel on the financialisation of development at BISA 2026 in Brighton. We would like the panel to explore how financial instruments, private equity, and blended finance are reshaping development policy and practice, and what this means for inclusive and sustainable growth. We would welcome contributions on topics including (but not limited to): the scope and impact of financialised development in the global South; private equity and blended finance in development policy; governance, transparency, and accountability in financialised aid; the role of development finance institutions and private sector actors and its implications for poverty reduction, inequality, and inclusive growth; and comparative or regional perspectives on the financialisation of development.

Please send titles and abstracts of proposed contributions no more than 200 words long by Friday 24 October 2025 to Ivica.petrikova@rhul.ac.uk and melita.lazell@port.ac.uk.
