BISA at International Studies Association 2025
The International Studies Association (ISA) annual conference takes place next month (2-5 March) and we will once again be convening sponsored panels and holding a reception with our journals – Review of International Studies (RIS) and European Journal of International Security (EJIS).
BISA-sponsored panels
If you're attending the conference we would love to see you at one of the BISA-sponsored panels, accepted through our partnership with ISA. All times are Central Standard Time (CST). For each panel we have provided further reading, either on a similar theme or by one of the panel speakers. All further reading is free to access until the end of March, and many of the articles are open access.
• Palestine: The label of ‘terrorism’ and the permissibility of violence - Sunday 2 March, 1.45pm, SC20 (Critical Studies on Terrorism Working Group)
• The role of professional associations in developing the IR discipline and its scholars - Sunday 2 March, 8.15am, SA45
In addition, representatives from the RIS and EJIS editorial team will be taking part in:
• Publishing in leading journals - Meet the Editors - Sunday 2 March, 1.45pm, SC13.
And, BISA Communications Manager, Chrissie Duxson, will be speaking at:
• Communicating research within and beyond academia - Sunday 2 March, 10.30am, SB30.
BISA, RIS and EJIS showcase reception
We will be holding a BISA reception on Monday 3 March from 7-8pm (CST) at the Chicago Hilton Hotel. We will showcase our two highly-regarded academic journals – Review of International Studies (RIS) and the European Journal of International Security (EJIS), as well as our fantastic book series which consists of over 150 books. The reception venue is one of the official ISA conference venues, and therefore very convenient following your last panel of the day. Come and meet us, and some of our journal and book series editors, over a drink. Please register for your free place now so that we have an idea of numbers, and don’t forget to put it in your diary! Walk ups on the day are more than welcome to join us also.
