Call for panels/roundtables: BISA submissions to ISA 2027 - Atlanta, Georgia
As a partner association of the International Studies Association (ISA), BISA is invited to submit up to three panels/roundtables annually for inclusion in the ISA programme. We in turn invite our members and working groups to submit your panels/roundtables to us for consideration as one of the partner events.
Our partner panels are advertised widely before and during the convention via the BISA social media, newsletter and website.
Next year the convention will take place in Atlanta, Georgia under the theme ‘Amnesia and Reckoning: Tumultuous times. Moments of crisis. The best of times, the worst of times’. The convention dates are 21 to 24 March 2027.
If you are interested in submitting a BISA-sponsored panel/roundtable, please send your proposal to the BISA office – office@bisa.ac.uk - by 5pm on Monday 25 May 2026. Submissions must include the following information:
Panels
- Title (must be less than 50 words)
- Abstract (must be less than 200 words)
- Tag words
- 5 papers (complete with title, tags, abstract and authors)
- At least 1 chair and discussant.
Roundtables
Roundtables are similar to panels but participants do not present papers. At least 1 chair and 5 participants are needed to submit a roundtable, along with title, tags and abstract.
- Title (must be less than 50 words)
- Abstract (must be less than 200 words)
- Tag words
- At least 5 participants
- At least 1 chair.
All submissions will be reviewed by our conference chair(s) on 26 May. We will confirm the selection with you by the end of 28 May for submission to ISA by 1 June 2026.
Please note that in order for BISA to make the submissions, we will require all the information requested above and confirmation from you that each of the participants on your panels/roundtable has set up an ISAnet account. Failure to do this may mean we are not able to submit your proposal.
Due to the tight turnaround, extensions to the deadline will not be possible.
You can view the full call for papers on the ISA website.
We are looking forward to engaging with the IR community in North America once again. We are committed to both internationalisation, and to creating and maintaining long-term partnerships with our sister associations.
