This November, our Postgraduate Network organised its first-ever speed mentoring event where PGRs and ECRs were paired with experts in relevant topics of their choice. The mentees had one-on-one mentoring sessions online with their respective mentors. The sessions covered four broad themes namely academic and non-academic careers after PhD, navigating academia as part of a minority group, publishing academic articles, and post-doc opportunities/grant applications.

BISA PGN appreciates the following for volunteering to be mentors in these areas:

"Thanks, BISA for organising this! As a junior scholar, The BISA PGN Speed Mentoring event provided me with a great opportunity to ask the questions that I needed answered to get to the next step after defending my PhD. It made me feel less alone in the academic community."
Anna-Karin Eriksson, Lecturer - Linnaeus University
"Thank you very much. I had a very fruitful meeting with my mentor on the topic. And I believe our exchanges will continue in the following months."
