Call for conveners: Global Politics and Development Working Group

The Global Politics and Development Working Group (GPD) is looking to recruit up to four new co-convenors to join the current convenor team.
GPD is a supportive network of over 100 international scholars and students, researching and teaching issues of global development. The group fosters critical reflection on the concept of 'development' and how it is being/could be achieved and advances the understanding of issues of global importance, including, for example, financial flows, migration, and food security.
In recruiting co-convenors, we value diversity in terms of gender, race, disability, and seniority and, regarding the latter, would welcome senior colleagues and ECRs. We also welcome applications from those with caring responsibilities.
The work of the co-convenors includes activities such as organising events, coordinating submissions for the annual BISA conference, and overseeing communications. We ask co-convenors to commit to a two-year term.
If you are interested in joining the GPD convenor team, starting in January 2026, please send a 100-150-word statement of interest to gpd.group@bisa.co.uk by Monday 1st December 2025.
If you have any questions, please also email gpd.group@bisa.co.uk.
We look forward to hearing from you!
