The convenor of the new BISA Astropolitics Working Group (AWG), Dr Bleddyn Bowen, is launching a new book at the University of Leicester: Original Sin: Power, Technology, and War in Outer Space, with Hurst Publishers.

Original Sin is an eye-opening account of a world order shaped by spacepower and the threat of space warfare, and has been reviewed as 'a fresh, timely... account of the military-political origins of spacepower', a 'critical intervention towards a more peaceful world', and a 'work from Britain's leading thinker on astropolitics'. Join us for a discussion covering 70 years of military-industrial space politics and history, and what it all means for humanity's future in space.

The launch event is free and open to all at Brookfield Lecture Theatre 2, Brookfield Campus, the University of Leicester, Leicester, LE2 1RQ. Thursday 10 November. Refreshments from 3.00pm, talk and Q&A begins at 3.30pm until 5.00pm. Followed by an off-campus, informal social in Leicester City. All are welcome!
