Critical Alternative for World Politics Working Group launches and call for convenors

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new Critical Alternatives for World Politics (CAWP) Working Group. As the spiritual successor of the Post-Structuralist Politics Working Group, the group aims to provide a welcoming space for alternative, experimental, and non-mainstream research in international studies. We are especially keen to encourage creative event and panel formats for discussion/presentation of research. The co-convenors are Uygar Baspehlivan and Natalie Jester, and more information can be found on the group’s BISA webpage. We hope to receive your submissions for BISA 2026!

The group is currently looking for a co-convenor and a PhD convenor to run the Working Group together. Please send a 250-word expression of interest and a CV to cawp.group@bisa.ac.uk by Friday 10 October 2025.
