Apply now be become a Critical Military Studies Working Group convener

Are you interested in being a working group convenor? We have an opening!

We are very sad to say that Hannah is stepping down as co-convenor of the Critical Military Studies Working Group (CMS) - huge, huge thanks for all your hard work on behalf of the working group, Hannah, you will be missed and we’re so glad you’re part of our amazing CMS community!

This means that we are looking for someone new to join our team! You would be joining Laura, Alice, and Gabi as co-conveners - it is a great opportunity to help shape conversations in CMS, widen your network, and develop experience that is invaluable in this (particularly hellish) academic job market. We would love you to join us!

If you'd like to be considered, please emails us a short statement (250 words) explaining why you are interested and what you would like to do as a convenor. The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2026. We will then ask the network to vote if several candidates put themselves forward.

Our email address is cmsgroup@bisa.ac.uk

We look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Laura, Alice & Gabi
