Ethics and World Politics Research Seminar

We are pleased to announce our upcoming BISA Ethics and World Politics Research Seminar, which is an ongoing forum for scholars to present, discuss and develop the latest work on the normative dimensions of world politics. The research seminar will focus on Decolonial Ethics and it will take place on 11 January 2019 at the School of History, Politics & International Relations (HyPIR), University of Leicester between 12.30 and 5.30pm with the collaboration of HyPIR’s GEPT and Glo/Co/Poco clusters.

The line-up is as follows:

Zeynep Gulsah Capan (University of Erfurt), “Unwrittable Pasts Written: Sociogeny and the Poetics of the Past”

Louiza Odysseos (University of Sussex), “The Use of Pleasure: Affective Contagion and Reparative Sociogeny in Decolonial Ethical Thinking”

Kim Hutchings (Queen Mary University of London), “To Dwell in the Borders: the Ethos of a Feminist and Decolonial International Ethics”

A light lunch will be provided at 12.00, as well as refreshments during the session. The papers will be followed by drinks reception sponsored by Millennium: Journal of International Studies.
