21st September 2016

10.30AM-5.00PM

Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Leicester

SR 409 Garendon, Fourth Floor, Charles Wilson Building

University Road, Leicester LE1 7RH

We are pleased to announce our first Ethics and World Politics seminar, which will be an ongoing forum for scholars to present, discuss and develop the latest work on normative dimensions of world politics.

This session will feature:

Dr Thomas Moore (Westminster)

“The Myth of Security Exceptionalism: Critical Architectures for Global Ethics”

Dr Kelly Staples (Leicester)

“The European Refugee Crisis: Holding Responsible as Contingent Cosmopolitanism”

Dr Benjamin Holland (Nottingham)

“The Perpetual Peace Puzzle: Kant on Persons and States”

The seminar will kick off at 10.30AM and finish at 5.00PM, with refreshments and lunch provided. There will also be drinks after.

The event is free thanks to the generous support of BISA and Millennium: Journal of International Studies. We would, however, ask that you contact us to register for the event, so we can plan for lunch and the drinks reception accordingly.

BISA members who are postgraduate students or not in full-time employment are eligible to apply for a bursary to help cover travel costs. Please contact the organisers for details on how to request a bursary.

We look forward to welcoming you all in Leicester. If you have any questions please get in touch.
