Conversations in ethics and world politics: Ethics and World Politics Working Group

Dear colleagues,

We hope this message finds you well.

As the new convening team of the Ethics and World Politics Working Group, we are delighted to introduce a new initiative: Conversations in ethics and world politics, a bi-monthly newsletter designed as a shared space for dialogue, collaboration, and exchange across our community.

Rather than a top-down publication, this newsletter is intended as a collective platform, a space where members of the working group and wider networks can share ideas, work in progress, teaching practices, and reflections on the ethical dimensions of world politics.

Why a newsletter?

The Ethics and World Politics Working Group brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary community. This newsletter aims to:

  • Create a space for ongoing dialogue beyond conferences and events
  • Showcase emerging and established research in accessible formats
  • Support early-career scholars and postgraduate researchers
  • Foster connections across subfields, including global health, migration, political theory, and beyond.

We are particularly keen for this to be a space where ideas can be shared at different stages of development; not only as finished outputs, but also as work in progress, reflections, and provocations.

Newsletter sections

  • Research spotlights/thinking pieces: short summaries of recent or ongoing research; reflections on recent developments in world politics
  • Conferences, events and workshops
  • Teaching and pedagogy: Innovative teaching approaches or reflections on your pedagogical practice
  • Reading recommendations: Academic works, blogposts, reports or anything else you find useful for our community
  • Publication announcements
  • Job and fellowship announcements.

Call for contributions

We warmly invite contributions from academics at all career stages. Submissions can be formal or informal in tone, and we welcome a range of formats for all newsletter sections.

Our editorial approach will be light-touch and supportive, with the aim of making the newsletter an accessible and inclusive space for all.
